Implementing Opendora

Implementing Opendora

PALS began working with the Minnesota State on Opendora in January 2018. Our goal was to provide a central repository for open educational resources (OER) to reduce the cost of textbooks and other course materials for students. Opendora is a derivative of Islandora, which is an open source digital asset management system that supports any file format and is highly customizable to meet the needs of both small and large institutions.

There were four overall phases of the project: (1) Beta testing and development, (2) the pilot phase, (3) test phase, and (4) the security phase. The implementation timeline breaks down these phases.
