1. Welcome and introductions:
Michael Kirby (convener) called the meeting to order at 11:24 am. Participants introduced themselves.
Johnna Horton volunteered to take minutes.
2. Approval of Agenda
Adam Marsnik moved to approve; Randi Madisen seconded. Motion passed.
Technical Colleges – Michael Kirby (Dakota County Technical College)
There was discussion about “Technical Colleges” and why it was restricted to technical colleges only. Michael reminded the group that all 2 year institutions were merged into one classification, so this group could change its name to something else more indicative of its membership.
Tess Kasling volunteered to take over the Private Colleges and Universities slot.
Michael volunteered to continue in his position.
Karen Bronshteyn is willing to continue in her position.
Dan reminded the group that the Minitex and UM ILL units will be moved to the PALS office, pending the U’s Alma implementation. The transition shouldn’t need to be managed at each campus; instead the PALS staff will work at the server level to change the lending and borrowing unit codes. More information will be provided when more is known. Minitex intends to operate this way for the foreseeable future.
EZproxy: PALS purchased licenses for EZproxy from OCLC in order to have access to ongoing updates to the software.
Keith Ewing mentioned that the OCLC vendor rep has been saying that OCLC won’t allow downloads of the software in the future.
Rod Bruce said that he hadn’t heard that and he doesn’t think that’s acceptable.
Adam asked if we should be looking at other options, particularly because there are issues with authentication and the ongoing State StarID implementation.
Keith said that there aren’t lots of options. One possibility would be Shibboleth.
It was suggested that EZproxy could be a workday topic. Dan volunteered to facilitate the session.
Randi will no longer be able to be convener of this work group to take a position on the advisory group for ELM. Anyone who is interested, please contact her.
7. SubjectsPlus Update: Melissa Prescott

They are currently developing a widget generator.
