PALS is making two sessions of our User Group Meetings, scheduled for tomorrow, October 27th, available via Adobe Connect for those unable to make the meeting in St. Cloud.
9:00 am to 10:00 am: General Session
General Session will include PALS Office Updates, Alma Updates and an Alma Vanguard Library Panel
11:15 am to 12:05 pm: Alma Migration Tips for Tech Services
Session Description: Sarah Weeks, Head of Acquisitions & Resource Management for St. Olaf College, will discuss The Bridge Consortium's migration to Alma. They went live on Alma in June 2016. Come learn what preparation steps they took, how they (and their metadata) survived and what lessons they learned along the way. This presentation will cover pre-migration cleanup, strategies for testing your sandbox data, configuration and set-up options, and impacts that Alma will have on your day-to-day cataloging, acquisitions and e-resource workflows.
Both meetings will use https://webmeeting.minnstate.edu/pals_consortium_meeting. We will use Adobe Connect's built in Audio option rather than our usual PALS Conference Line, so you should be able to listen from your computer via the speakers or have Adobe Connect dial out to your local phone. Additional Information on using Adobe Connect is here. If you have not used this new version of Adobe Connect, I would recommend going through the testing steps outlined ahead of time to make sure your browser has the Adobe Connect Add-in and that you have Adobe Flash enabled in your browser.
Because we are currently uncertain of some of the logistics for allowing remote audio, our plan is to currently take questions via the Adobe Connect chat function.
Ideally, both sessions will also be recorded for viewing at a later time.
Please let us know if you have questions. Please note that some of the PALS staff will be traveling to St. Cloud this afternoon, so we may not be readily available to quickly answer questions.
