MnPALS Consortium Spring User Groups April 26, 2005
Process of Recording and Reviewing Problems and Implementing Recommendations to the MnPALS OPAC
PALS staff will create a spreadsheet that will centrally record the OPAC problems, recommendations of the MATF, date of fixes, notes, Aleph version, and person reporting problem.
All problems, issues, concerns, etc, concerning the OPAC will be submitted through an online form available on the MnSCU/PALS website. No e-mails, telephone calls, or personal communications will be accepted by PALS staff or any other member of the MATF. The submitter will have read-only access to a spreadsheet that records the items/problems, the current status, and any recommendations or other information through a link on the MnSCU/PALS website.
PALS staff will record these items/problems in the spreadsheet and it is the responsibility of each MATF member to review the spreadsheet prior to a teleconference.
MATF will prioritize the items/problems on the spreadsheet to give PALS staff some direction in making the changes. As the recommendations are implemented the status of items/problems should be reflected in the spreadsheet to keep it as current as possible.
When MATF makes a recommendation, PALS staff will implement the change in the Test Catalog. The recommendation from MATF and the link to the Test Catalog will be e-mailed to the Reference User Group and the Aleph Migration list by PALS staff. The groups have one week to review and comment on the change as it appears in the MnPALS Test Catalog OPAC. If a majority* of institutions agree to the change (51%) PALS staff will implement in Harp.
