PALS Report (pdf) (Dan Honetschlager, PALS)
The Aleph system is stable, so there were not a lot of issues this year.
MnPALS did some training, including Dunwoody, which is now using Aleph.
A combined Workday was held April 9-10, 2015.
Aleph v. 22 has a new way of printing, which seems to be working well for the libraries.
MNSCU libraries can use the StarID and password for logging in to EZProxy. If your library would like to set this up, contact Dan.
Future ILS / RFP (Keith Ewing, St. Cloud State University) The drafting process began last April, and functional areas wrote sections over the summer. The Systems group consisted of Michael Kirby, Keith Ewing, Randi Madisen, Dan Honetschlager, and Deb Domek. An editing group worked to link the sections together in the draft RFP. At this meeting, we considered edits to the Systems sections suggested by MnPALS consortium members. See edits within the RFP for specifics. RFP suggestions submitted prior to User Group.
Keith offered high level questions to consider when evaluating RFP responses, so we don’t just focus on the details. Is the proposed system better than what we have? Will it be better for the future? How does the proposal improve workflow and existing processes?
Adam Marsnik moved to approve the RFP edits. Heather Biedermann seconded. Motion passed.
