Join Carrie Curie and Dan Honetschlager, PALS, as they review the Aleph Inventory process and answer questions that you may have about getting started with an inventory. They will be hosting two sessions for your convenience. The two sessions will be covering the same content.
Update: The indexing copy process was completed between 11:30 pm on Saturday, November 28th and 9:30 am Sunday, November 29. All systems should be back to normal. Please report any problems to the PALS Support Center.
We will begin the annual re-indexing process on Saturday, November 21, 2015. This is done on the Aleph development server, so the Aleph development server will be unavailable starting this November 21 until the indexing is finished.
Then we will need to take Aleph Production Server down while we move the updated indexing data from Development to Production. Typically, it is unavailable for approximately a 12 hour period. The production server will most likely be taken down overnight on Saturday, November 28 and be down until sometime on Sunday morning, November 29. We will send another message to the MnPALS Mailing lists before it is taken down and after it is available again.
The OPAC will be re-directed to the development server OPAC while the production server is down. Announcements will be sent before the production server goes down and when it available again.
MnPALS Plus and PALSdiscover will continue to be available but no patron empowerment features will be working. EZProxy SIP authentication will continue to work.
In 2014, the production server went down at 11:30 PM on the Saturday night after Thanksgiving and was down until approximately 11 AM Sunday.
To kick off the fall semester, there will be two Aleph Course Reserves Office Hours. The same information will be reviewed at both sessions, so you do not need to attend both. Here are the details for both sessions:
