Data Acceptance testing
The production data has been loaded on Alma for all libraries as of yesterday. You can accept your data any time after you have completed your review, but no later than January 23 at 5:00 pm.
We recommend using the Aleph Development server to compare your Alma data against Aleph. It holds the data that was used for the production migration. Because of this, we recommend that you do not make any changes on Aleph Development.
Once you have sent your data acceptance notification message, you may begin live work in all areas of Alma except those related to the fulfillment data that will be migrated again:
- users (patrons)
- loans (active)
- hold requests on the hold shelf
- fines / fees (current)
Downtime on Aleph for all functions begins Thursday, January 24 at 5:00 pm.
Go-live on Alma and Primo will be Tuesday, January 29.
Ex Libris has confirmed that they will be able to complete the final fulfillment (circulation) migration between Thursday at 5 pm and Monday morning. That will give us the day on Monday, January 28 to review our Circulation data and confirm that it is acceptable.
Alma Offline Circulation Client
If you plan to use the Alma Offline Circulation Client during the downtime, you will need to install the software on your Circulation computers and test it. We recommend that you run the Offline Circulation Client on only one terminal per Alma Circulation desk to make processing the files easier after go-live. If you need to have your IT staff install the software for you, I recommend you contact them right away so it can be installed in a timely manner.
Alma Availability During Cutover
Do not make any changes on Alma production until you have accepted your data. Instead, please use the Alma and Primo sandboxes (see your Implementation Lead for login information).
You may experience a temporary outage or unusual behavior in Alma during the fulfillment cutover weekend (January 24 at 5 pm until January 28), as your new fulfillment data is loaded, but Alma should be up and running for all or nearly all working hours.
