MnPALS Forum and WikiThe PALS office has set up both Forum (Message Board) and Wiki software for use by the Consortium of MnPALS Libraries and the PALS Staff. Conversion of documents from the FuseTalk boards to SMF Forum boards has been done manually. A demonstration of both the MnPALS Forum and Wiki software will take place during the General Session on the second day of the MnPALS Fall 2007 User Group meetings.
Both the Forum and Wiki will only be open to members of the Consortium of MnPALS Libraries and PALS Staff.
Register
Register to use the MnPALS Forum and/or Wiki via the MnPALS Forum at: http://forums.mnpals.org. This user name and password will allow access to both the Forum and the Wiki. You will have to sign on to each separately; however, the same username and password will work for both. You will receive confirmation of your User Name and Password once you register.
We ask that you please use the following protocol for your username: FirstnameLastname (e.g. RodBruce). Do not include an underscore or other special characters in your username.
Email Notification of Forum Posts
You can set up your account so that you will receive an email on any topics that YOU decide are important. Here's how:
Once you have an account on the MnPALS Forum you can select the Boards and Topics for which you want to be notified via email when something is posted. Below is a screen-shot of my profile. If you set up your "Notifications and Email" setting like this you will receive an email message when someone posts to a Board or Topic for which you want to be notified. When you post you will automatically have notification turned on for that topic. If you un-check the second box "Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply" you will receive a notification for every posting to a board or topic you are watching; otherwise you will only receive one notification until you have gone to the forum and viewed the messages.
