
MARC Records Task Force
The MARC Records Task Force was created by the Cataloging User Group at their October 2006 meeting.
- Adam Marsnik (NDC) moved to propose a set of guidelines for bringing records from other sources into Aleph; Second Robin Horowitz (MSL)
- Asked for volunteers to propose guidelines. Volunteers were: Robin Horowitz, Bobby Bothmann, Mary Ann Greenwald, Kathleen Ashe, Adam Marsnik, and Carla Dewey Urban. Called a vote for establishing the committee. Approved by the group.
The Task Force met a few times to create the policy document “Guidelines for the Import of Non OCLC MARC Records in the MnPALS Catalog”. The document was approved by the Cataloging User Group at their March 2007 meeting. The Task Force was disbanded at their March 2007 meeting.
