Re-ordering of agenda added Al as speaker on indexing issues.
Minutes from fall meeting were approved Motion: Robin Horwitz, 2nd Adam Marsnik
Clarification about sections
#7 – Concerning the creation of a list of terms for tab_type_config was referred to the MITF
#8 – Concerning Government Publication in tab_type_config was referred to Reference UG and will be put on the Fall User group agenda
Translating cataloging jargon and indexing labels for reference folk – Theresa Borchert introduced presentors.
Pete McDonnell presented on MARC-ese, Catalog Card and 3 digit tag record
Sheila Hatchell presented on Aleph tables, fixed field indexing, local ADM client and system tables.
Al Rykhus reported on the indexing issues: Every single word appears to be indexed. Lute has been completely re-index with adjacency searching, can now be tested. Un-indexing issue was talked about.
Perry Madden reported that year limiter still has a glitch. The date limit seems to take a very long time, system times out to a blank screen.
Mary Anne Greenwald mentioned an issue that if an item that has a status field number that is very high the item will stay indexed even after it has been removed. She also mentioned that when a smaller acquisition order brief record is overlaid by a bib record and if the item status is to suppress that record that record it will retain that item status.
