Aleph 19 Upgrade Update: March 18, 2009The Aleph production server will be down beginning at 2:00 am, Saturday, March 21 for the upgrade to version 19. We expect to have version 19 live sometime on Sunday, March 22.
Also, please note:
- The OPAC will be redirected to the version 18 development/test server during the down time (date of the data is 3/14).
- Interlibrary loan will not be available during the down time.
- If you choose to use Aleph offline circulation, use the Aleph v.19 circulation client. See Support Center answer #3079 for instructions on using offline circulation.
Interlibrary Loan – During Downtime
Interlibrary loan will not be available from either a blank form or the link from the OPAC during the downtime of March 21-22. If a patron clicks on either of these links, they will receive a message indicating that interlibrary loan is unavailable.
We will notify MINITEX of the downtime so that they may make adjustments for the MnLINK Gateway. If they choose to point to dev18 for searching, interlibrary loan from the MnLINK Gateway will continue to work, but requests will be queued for processing when the system comes back up.
Saturday, March 21, 2:00 am: Version 18 production server is shut down. Staff client access to Aleph production will not be available until you are notified that production 19 is up and ready to use. Web OPAC and MnPALS Plus will be redirected to dev18.
Sunday, March 22: Go live on version 19. Watch for an announcement on the mailing list that version 19 is available. Refer to http://www.mnpals.org/sections/19golive.html for the Switch to Production Checklist.
Important Note: Any changes that are made on dev19 must be tracked and re-entered on prod19 after March 22. This includes table changes and changes to staff privileges. Changes made on prod18 after March 16 will also need to be re-entered on prod19 after March 22.
Following is an update on the work completed, in progress, and coming up.
